I just got the Poweglide in and the cable adjusted and I noticed while it was up on the jacks with the engine running the wheels spin forward with the shifter in neutral. With the car on the ground it is enough to move the 3200# car forward slightly. It does have a transbrake, and when it is activated the wheels do stop turning as expected. I think you've got it backwards. It helps to remember that second gear in the powerglide is 1.00 ratio. First gear is always numerically higher so that the car accelerates quicker in first gear. I think I can eliminate the converter to crank connection, since the noise was evident when spinning the driveshaft with the tranny in neutral. The crank ans outer shell of the converter should not have been moving. Plus the noise is defifitly in sync with driveshaft, not motor speed.
